Has your discount code leaked?

A code shared on coupon sites gives money away to shoppers who would have paid in full. Seven checks to find a leak and stop it.

1. Search coupon sitesSearch for your store name plus "coupon code". If your code shows up, it has leaked.
2. Look for a spikeCompare each code's uses this week with a normal week. Three times the usual is a warning sign.
3. Set limitsGive public codes an end date and a use limit.
4. Stop stackingTurn off combining for welcome codes, so they don't stack with a sale.
5. Use single-use codesGive each sign-up its own code instead of one shared code.
6. Retire a leaked codeEnd it and send your list a new one.
7. Check every weekOr let a tool do it for you.
