Troubleshooting

Zyro stopped seeing visits

Usually a theme change switched off the app embed, or a republish dropped the snippet. Here's how to put it back.

ShopifyAny website

Zyro emails you when a store that had steady visits goes quiet for 2 days. On Shopify, Watchdog also flags it when orders keep coming in but no visits are recorded for 6 hours.

On Shopify

  1. Open your live theme. A new theme, or a theme update, often has the Zyro app embed switched off. In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes and choose Customize on your live theme.
  2. Switch it back on. Open App embeds, turn on Zyro Tracker and choose Save. The Open the app embeds button in Zyro's email takes you straight there.

On any other site

  1. Copy the snippet. A theme update or a republish can drop the Zyro script. Open My sites, choose Get script and copy it.
  2. Paste it back and publish. Put it back into the head of every page, publish, then choose Verify installation. Using Tag Manager? Check the Zyro tag is still in the published container.

While tracking is off, Zyro can't see where shoppers come from, so revenue by channel for that time will be incomplete.

If it doesn't work

  • You moved to a new domain. On a non-Shopify site, update the domain in My sites (choose Edit). Zyro only counts visits from the domain on file.
  • You added a cookie banner. On Shopify, Zyro waits for shoppers to accept analytics cookies, so fewer visits are counted when many decline.
  • Check the page code. View your store's page source and search for shopify-boot on Shopify, or zyro-tracker elsewhere. If it isn't there, the install is still missing. Tag Manager installs won't show up this way, so use Tag Manager's Preview instead.
  • Still nothing after an hour. Email us your store address and when visits stopped.
