Using Zyro

Profit and costs

What your store kept after product costs, shipping, fees, refunds and ads, and where each cost comes from.

Every planShopify and WooCommerce

Profit reads each order's products, shipping, tax and refunds, so it needs your store's orders. On Shopify it is the Profit tab in the Zyro app in your Shopify admin. On WooCommerce it is Profit in Zyro once WooCommerce is connected under Connections. Open Profit in Zyro

How Zyro works it out

  • Net sales are your paid orders before tax, minus refunds. Shipping that shoppers paid counts as sales. Test, cancelled, voided, pending and expired orders are left out.
  • Profit is net sales minus product cost, your shipping cost, payment fees and ad spend.
  • Pick the last 7, 30 or 90 days. When a store first connects, Zyro brings in its last 60 days of orders, so a 90-day view fills in over time.
  • est. means part of the number comes from an average you typed, not from each order. When a cost is missing, the total says what it leaves out, and Finish your numbers lists what to add.

Where your costs come from

  • Shopify's Cost per item. Zyro reads it once a day for each product variant, after you allow Zyro to read your products and inventory. Zyro never changes your costs in Shopify.
  • Costs you type. Edit costs lists the products you sold in the last 60 days. Type a unit cost for any product, on Shopify or WooCommerce. A cost you type wins over Shopify's Cost per item.
  • Default cost as % of price covers sales of products with no cost. Without it, Zyro shows profit once products with a cost make up at least 90% of sales. The rest then counts as no cost, so the profit is marked est.
  • Shipping per order and payment fees (a percent plus a fixed amount per order) are averages you type, so they are always marked est.
  • Ad spend comes from your Meta ad account once it is connected. Google Ads and TikTok spend come in once each one approves Zyro. Zyro takes spend as the ad account reports it, so an ad account billed in another currency won't match your store's yet.

On zyro.world, owners and admins can change costs.

Products to check

Products that lose money on each sale once their cost is counted, and products with many refunds. Each shows what it costs you, so you can change the price or the cost.

In the Shopify app

The Profit tab also compares what your ads claim with the sales Shopify confirms, channel by channel, with each channel's profit and one piece of advice: spend more, keep it, or it is losing money. For the sales Zyro credits to each channel, see How revenue by channel works.
